I am lost at sea
and this doggie paddle
ain’t doin’ much
against these twelve foot
monsters
that just keep
coming and coming and coming…

Leaves a lot of room for imagination. My interpretation of this is that sometimes in life, we stray so far away from what is right. We lose ourselves in the moment by worrying too much, leaving ourselves vulnerable to these “monsters” that can’t wait to devour us. One of the personal monsters I’ve faced is smoking cigarettes. I started during my rebellious teenage days, and allowed myself to be consumed by bad influences, and once it took me, there was no going back. It’s the same as being lost at sea, you can choose to swim, but which direction?
