Wake Up-Time to Die

When Days of End come at last,

when the American hegemony falls,

and the last demagogue

of the West

Surrenders the urban sprawl,

The Sun will Set

at the end of an Age,

And Once again the World will wonder;

There was a Caesar-

When Shall come such Another?

Summer Nights

Down the path, and through the dunes of sea-grass and growth, past the foxes and crickets and gulls, down to the black beach, down to the Sea. The Moon lights the way, and ghosts are your guide On the quiet path to the Sea. Sand is cool, but the night is warm and alone you see the world in motion, Moon reflecting every motion, Every sound disappearing, caught by ghosts in the summer night, warm breeze lifts you as waves break in the summer night and the sea-grass sways with the wind beneath the stars and the salt-air Crying to the Sea in the summer night Where tears are lost, and ghosts

Are everywhere.

Success by Rachel Forster

If I was successful would you put your arms around me

And remember the ways in which I’d changed your life?

Or would my success intimidate you?

Make you less likely to change the world?

Success will not ensure that you influence hearts

Nor guarantee you feel any more loved

The surprise truth is: to love equals success

If you can accept who you are,

Whilst seeking to grow each day

And love others as their need is.

Then you have real success

You don’t need to be successful to have love

But you do need to love to be successful

Crying In the Bathroom

They talk uncomfortably

about the way things should be

and small-town gossip

and big-world dreams,

after the insanity is ended

and hot-heads still steam,

Cold dinner on a plate

push it with the fork,

still tastes like hate

It’s hard to swallow

when collie-flower tastes

like sorrow;

Push in your chair

and walk up the stair

Your friend walks past and you

smile although

he knows

that the tears are impending

but he’s pretending not to see

the fragile autocracy

of an independent heart

broken to pieces,

fallen apart.

The facade of a grin

and the Everything’s fine

while you’re screaming within

and losing you Mind-

What a curious condition

that only Man can find;

withholding emotion

to shut out assistance

intriguing resistance

to a fight that is not there!

but up you go

to the top of the stair

and tell your family

that you don’t care,

nothing’s the matter

while inside you steadily

become sadder,

and you feel

sick to the core

just thinking about it,

close the bathroom door

(gently as to not make a fuss)

and you make sure it’s secure

before

you start to cry

the weight of the world

took a rest on your chest

and as you cry

you come to realize

That Man is a solitary creature

Space

Let your mind wonder

as you begin to ponder

what we deem to be life.

Feel your body sink

as you begin to think,

the next logical step, death.

Feel your mind release

and you might feel at peace

free from the distractions of the world.

Now it may seem

as if you’re in a dream,

but reality will come rushing back.

Slap you dead in the face,

pull you down from space,

cause life can do that sometimes.

Ocean

I Open my Eyes. The Sky is gray. Rain is wet against me. Wind Howls down empty streets. Hurricane.

I Open my Eyes. I see the World. Hear the distant Roar of the Ocean. Feel the rain. Smell the Sea. Taste Fear.

I Open my Eyes. Step into Liquid, cold. Cold. Cold like ice. Feel the Rain and Feel the Life racing through me.

I Open my Eyes. I See the World.

Invisible (for the Forgotten and the Victims of Searing Injustice)

Nobody seems to care for

What cannot be Seen

But when I look into the Mirror,

I don’t only see Me and

It cannot be Clearer

that I am but a function of We.

No one can Decieve

Nor make me Believe

that my Mind is a Sieve

To make me Live as a Piece

of this Hideous machine

That turns it’s Insidious,

Vacant Engines

with it’s Darkly

Suicidal Intentions,

think not of those

Who Find others to Blame

but Seek the depraved

and Lose my own Name to

Leave the whole World

Decaying in Shame

and look up to the Stars

and Beyond the Tame

Cities broken Boondox

Terrestrial shattered

Civilized Paradox

The Things I See when the Lights go Out

Fascinatingly, Terrifying

It doesn’t matter, shut them Out

These ghosts in my Head

That I cannot get out

Titanic Mistakes which

I did make

and though my Life is Not empty

It’s still far from Full

Those who are Forgotten

my Soul still does Pull

closer ever to my Heart

Which is not One

But billions tied

To All who suffer and

All those who Cry

And When my Eyes are shut

I Still can see

The Victims right

In front of me

Those who are blind

and Narrow in Mind

never think to care

For whats Righteous or Fair

And if you’ve been to the bottom

Can you comprehend what’s on top?

Dark, red Blood on

a Long, cold Blade

and All of the Ghosts

Suddenly

Fade

Ocean Bird

Ocean Bird soars

past gates and Doors

Past ports and towns,

Past smiles and frowns

Over the World’s troubles

Gliding effortless and subtle

In the strobe of the light

Of Sunshine morning, Glory flight

Ocean Bird soars

Past dark shadowed Moors,

Past caves by the coasts

Over lonely Ghosts

Out to the Sea

Of Joyous uncertainty,

Ocean Bird soars

To Heavenly lures

Past the dark storm cloud,

Past the Mean-eyed crowd

Past the dangerous waters

Till white snow covers

The Docks and the piers

And the daylight clears

Every cloud from the Skies

Opening up the Wanderer’s Eyes,

Ocean Bird soars

With a Soul so Pure!

Past the white-capped foam,

He’s found a Home

A Prayer For Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve when eyelids sink and Head does Nod, I look out my window to Behold my God, On quiet Night, beneath Perfect Sky, Is time to remember Those who cry,  And send out a Prayer for those Victims of Injustice and what is not ‘Fair’, those without a family With which this Night to Share, Let them know they are not Forgotten On Eve of Day ere Christ’s begotten. Those who suffer Mental illness or battle the demons of addiction and those infirmed with physical ailment or affliction give tender love and care and do not let their hearts despair, and to those who live where danger Fear and Violence reign, ease their sorrows, Woes and pain, this Christmas Eve remember those who had to leave and go up to that quiet sky, rejoice in those who live in memory of those who die, and let those who are Invisible be seen, to highest thrones lift them from shameful slums unclean, As I drift off to sleep, these secret hopes my Heart will keep this Christmas Eve I pray, let all the World behold

A glorious Christmas Day

Sounds

How can I be loud

When I try to Shout

No sounds come out?

How can Sounds have meaning

When they are intangible

untouchable and Receding?

How symbolic are the syllables

That leave my lips

Or are the markings engraved on Ancient crypts?

How are the sounds of falling leaves

Less beutiful then

A piano’s keys?

Sounds may seem comprehensible to fools

Who aren’t frustrated with a Language’s

Elegance, intricacy, it’s rules

But the thoughts that die within my head

Might in the darkness illuminating

Light be shed

Were not for sounds to make us see the World

To which we might all be bound

Like bats which scream at the Night to see

What Are Sounds?

A mystical phenomenon of Noise to me,

But not hearing the sights in front of you

Selfdestructing, absolute choleric,

Your eyes would misconstrue

The Sound we hear

Is all around shouting howling at the

Sky smashing anger and fury are distinct,

but Listening

is Extinct

Trap

Broken, Shattered, rundown Dreams Incomplete

In the streets black spiritualists preach

As Pipe-fiends weep Because their children won’t

Speak

And Forever they’ll sleep

In the dirt lot across the Street

Buried beneath the trash and the Filth and

Betrayed with Deciet

Of Freedom when we are born

In a Prison

And we teach Ourselves,

Although many don’t learn and

we who do reach

And we reach

Desperately Beseeching in a World

Full of Villains and creeps and to

God they entreat to grant Salvation

to the World we created

In the Projects where

Darkness only grows

In the Pockets of the Criminals

Holding Dope for dealers and cash

Flows into Selfishness and Greed

And the Government misleads and Fear

and Anger breed beneath the

Streetlights and wired Fences

is where the seed is planted and

Wickedness starts in the Hearts of the

Landlords of the Tenements

and broken glass covered streets

And Crumbled concrete

and the Cities Heartbeat is

Is Never at peace

Only the Bullets can release and

Murderers hold the Keys
