Words

They come

rushing forward

rolling off your tongue,

spitting through your lips.

as they fly

through the air,

you never realize

what damage they

will do.

They hit me

with a force

unimaginable

unfathomable

unreal.

like a spear stabbing

straight through my heart

i feel as if i

am dying.

physical abuse can

heal with time

but words

will nestle within

and haunt you forever.

save me

sitting in the dark

waiting for the sun

that will never come

dreams turn to sand

slipping through your hands

the wind wiping wildly

through your long and unkempt hair

naked as a baby

dressed and gone to war

please somebody save me

from the shadows

outside my door

War

pounding

sounding in the distance

the drumroll starts,

feel it Beckoning

to your heart.

Drums, Drums,

the Wolves of War

Blood and Iron, sword and

Thundering Roar,

Slaughter, hands

slick with Gore!

Moving to

the drumroll of War,

Glory, Death and Murder-joy,

Come now lad,

off my boy!

Kill, stab, burn, Destroy!

Off we go boys, to

answer War!

Drums, drums!

rolling in your Heart,

don’t you want to

do your Part?

The acrid smell of

Gunpowder wakes Demons

in your Heart!

The Flames climb high

and homesteads Burn

Grab a women,

Take a turn!

Brutalize, Rape, Hurt, Take!

Drums, Drums!

The Animal call!

Screaming, grieving,

Pulling us All

A Maelstrom of Devastation!

an ignorant people’s Manipulated

Frustration

Drums, Drums,

Booming, Dooming

Land and body,

Spirit and Mind,

and tender feelings

Stripped from inside;

Drumrolls of War

Spilling over the Hills,

But

it’s Humankind

who Kills

Monsters

“I am Afraid of Monsters,”

jeered the boy to his Father

clothed in skins

“Don’t be,” He replied

with a grin

as he tore the flesh from the bone

with his Teeth, and

Blood rolled down his Chin.

“There’s no such thing.”

Untitled

Nothin’s easy

when you’re

feelin’ queasy.

Nothin’s fun

when you’re

on the run.

people are scared

with you’re

blue hair.

you got you’re gun

and now it’s done.

Just pull the trigger

and watch it flash

before your eyes.

Give it a squeeze

and watch him

crumple to his knees.

It doesn’t matter

anymore.

When he’s

sinking to the floor.

Nothin’s hard

with you’re

own petard.

Everything’s fun

when you

got a gun.

They’re still scared

of your

red hair.

But the nightmare

is over

before it begun.

Ice Cream Man

Ain’t life free

for the ice cream man?

Ain’t life sweet

for the ice cream man?

yourself

confess yourself

undress yourself

to your bones

reveal your soul

to yourself

you need to know

who you are

before you can help

anyone else

Reach Inside

What’s the deal

with how you feel

For those who can’t see

below the knee

Finding something

which I’ve found

buried deep beneath the ground

So come alive

and don’t be dead

Find the notion

Within your head.

Finished?

I don’t know if I’m dumb

or just uninspired.

These poems used to

come to me.

Now they

Run from me.

Playing hooky.

Let It Go

Can we really win

this infinite race

when we know

some things are hard to replace?

It’s hard to let

just One thing go

and keep you’re life

in a steady flow.

Brutality

my wrist curls back

I feel the stick weighing

in my hand

as I propel it forward

to strike the head

of it.

the head vibrates

violently

shaking

trembling.

I cock back my foot

and give it

a swift kick

to the face.

Not once but

two

three

four

times.

After another

stick to the face,

I rear back and

crash into it.

As my cymbal simmers,

my guitarist glances back

and nods

as if to say.

“you killed it”

undisturbed: dreaming

come to me easy

as i lay down tonight

make peace in my mind

as i sleep tonight

whether in a bed or on the streets

in a prison cot

or cold dirt floor

sleep will always cleanse the soul

and until sunrise

let me sleep in peace

undisturbed

dreaming

bliss

come to me easy

as i lay down tonight

reality

harsh

stunning

relentless

cunning

thirsty

unforgiving

melancholy

just another

brick in the wall;

reality check

lesson learned

how am i supposed to learn my lesson

when i know not what i am being taught

do i sit here and listen

pretend?

or do i question

where others fear to do so

stone throw

a stone’s throw away

it seems so close

but as the stone flies

so does your target

you can never seem to be quite there

at quite the right time

Superbowl Sunday

Hundreds of people

spend Billions of dollars

to try to make

Millions of dollars.

Millions people

spend hours preparing,

spend Hundreds of dollars,

buying things they are told

they need to have.

Millions to be made,

Millions to be lost,

and it’s all for

a game.

Helping Hand

If you see me,

crying in the dark

don’t ask me where I’m from,

don’t ask me where I’ve been,

Just let me in.

If you see me,

begging on my knees

yelling “please, God, please”

with no answers to my pleas,

Just let me in.

Everyone has

some troubles in life.

Everyone has

some grief and strife.

Sometimes we need

a helping hand,

to bring us up

and help us stand.

a favorite place of mine

the boy went out

to find his home

the dog set out

to find his bones

mother wept

for just awhile

father came home

passed out on the floor

slept in his clothes

he was gone before morn

a favorite place of mine

was always under the covers

i feel so safe

from outside bothers

i clench my eyes closed shut

in hopes that when i open them

love will be there

What Are We?

What are we really

but bones and skin?

What are we really

but time wearing thin?

What are we really

but lights and sounds?

What are we really?

A thought that astounds

or maybe confounds.

The more you think

the less you know

but give it some time

and perhaps you’ll grow

to understand what we really are

and find your path, your Lodestar.

Last Living Legend:

The memories in our hearts

Pearce us like darts

The dreams we once shared

Have parted and fared

Legends live to leave a mark

But like shadows, they only dwell in the dark

We all have to pay

Our tolls someday

Death has never missed…

It’s now time to reminisce

Invisible (for the Forgotten and the Victims of Searing Injustice)

Nobody seems to care for

What cannot be Seen

But when I look into the Mirror,

I don’t only see Me and

It cannot be Clearer

that I am but a function of We.

No one can Decieve

Nor make me Believe

that my Mind is a Sieve

To make me Live as a Piece

of this Hideous machine

That turns it’s Insidious,

Vacant Engines

with it’s Darkly

Suicidal Intentions,

think not of those

Who Find others to Blame

but Seek the depraved

and Lose my own Name to

Leave the whole World

Decaying in Shame

and look up to the Stars

and Beyond the Tame

Cities broken Boondox

Terrestrial shattered

Civilized Paradox

The Things I See when the Lights go Out

Fascinatingly, Terrifying

It doesn’t matter, shut them Out

These ghosts in my Head

That I cannot get out

Titanic Mistakes which

I did make

and though my Life is Not empty

It’s still far from Full

Those who are Forgotten

my Soul still does Pull

closer ever to my Heart

Which is not One

But billions tied

To All who suffer and

All those who Cry

And When my Eyes are shut

I Still can see

The Victims right

In front of me

Those who are blind

and Narrow in Mind

never think to care

For whats Righteous or Fair

And if you’ve been to the bottom

Can you comprehend what’s on top?

Dark, red Blood on

a Long, cold Blade

and All of the Ghosts

Suddenly

Fade

Dreamer

Dreams never die

but sometimes they cry.

Dreams may never fly

but sometimes they try.

Dreams can reach the sky

or never past your eyes.

Dreams can be a way to live

or hold you captive.

False Wisdom

Is there something that you yearn?

Like a lesson easily learned

Under the context in which it was earned

What do you get in return?

Others

In deepest Night,

when all are asleep

is when they come,

up the flight

of shadow-stair

silent and fleet

Cloaked in black,

Quiet as the breath

of a slumbering child,

Down the Hall,

soundlessly gliding

Quietly

into the bed-chambers

of my family

And there they stand,

not breathing, sensationless

Diabolic yet infinitely patient

standing

staring from shadowed faces

no eyes but still they are watching,

in Deepest night

the clock reads three

I am awake, eyes squeezed

Shut

but

I know there is one standing,

and its

Looking

at me.

Tigers Blood

Tigers blood

coursing through its Veins

blocking out any further pain

the growl that makes grown men come to tears

realizing the true face of fear

running would be pointless

screaming proved helpless

face down in the mud

comes the true meaning of tigers blood.

Stranger

Stranger to me

Stranger to you

When life means nothing

Are you really living

When you live to die

And love has no virtue

Are you alive

When death does not phase you

And the name Hades does not strike fear into your heart

Have you a soul

Neither sun nor moon

Or burning wound

You are a still a stranger to me

And I am a stranger to you

Is God for me?

God

What is God

Is God enough to save a soul

Damned to hell

Is God love

Is God the night sky

Or the dull light of dawn

As days go past

And time grows old

Does God sit upon a golden throne

Is God for everyone

Is God for me

I don’t think so

So don’t try to make me believe

Ocean Bird

Ocean Bird soars

past gates and Doors

Past ports and towns,

Past smiles and frowns

Over the World’s troubles

Gliding effortless and subtle

In the strobe of the light

Of Sunshine morning, Glory flight

Ocean Bird soars

Past dark shadowed Moors,

Past caves by the coasts

Over lonely Ghosts

Out to the Sea

Of Joyous uncertainty,

Ocean Bird soars

To Heavenly lures

Past the dark storm cloud,

Past the Mean-eyed crowd

Past the dangerous waters

Till white snow covers

The Docks and the piers

And the daylight clears

Every cloud from the Skies

Opening up the Wanderer’s Eyes,

Ocean Bird soars

With a Soul so Pure!

Past the white-capped foam,

He’s found a Home

Somewhere In Between

Between the Trees and

the Locust cries

You can hear the soft

moan of the Summer breeze

You ruffled my leaves

and I began to cry

the saplings will

All wither and Die

I was somewhere in between

two towering elder trees

I was overwhelmed

Opportunity ripped out from my arms

I went down to the creek

and took a Deep draw,

I rose to my feet and

Spread my limbs wide

and for the first time

I opened my Eyes.
